Group Chat Culture

Group Chat Culture In college, you will find yourself in a lot of group chats. Your first group will probably be with people that you met at your residence hall. For me, I met people on the first night of my time at Snyder Hall and we immediately established a group chat. Youll probably spend a lot of time relying on this group chat to give you things to do during your first few weeks on campus. After all, your new group chat is the first connections youve made with people on campus. Even for group projects, you will find that group chats are essentially vital to everything that is being done. If you want to meet up and work with your fellow project members, your group chat will provide you with the perfect avenue for doing so. Many times, this has been the only way that my group projects have gone on. Especially in the dead of winter, group chats will be provide a vital utility to the members of your group project. There are several apps and services that are perfect for hosting group chats. My personal favorite is GroupMe. The other good ones are Facebook Messenger and iMessage. The reason that I believe GroupMe is the best is because your friends dont have to have to use an iPhone to participate. With iMessage, everyone must have iOS to be in the group chat. Facebook Messenger is also good, but it seems that most people want to use GroupMe instead, so its slowly become the preferred platform. Courtesy of groupme Always remember to be a good member of a group chat. Dont bully people with it and try not to spam the other members inside of it. There is nothing worse than getting 30 messages an hour about things that the whole group does not necessarily care about.
